In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.

Exercise Simplicity: Doing What you Love
It’s a beautiful thing to see our health become more and more important in the last decade.
More doctors are recommending exercise than ever before and there are more diets than we can keep up with.
I think this is all great but sometimes, more choices means more indecision.
With so many different forms of exercise it can become confusing as to what you should do?
You may say, “well, this celebrity says to do this” and “this infomercial looks pretty cool”.
It becomes overwhelming and sometimes we don’t start.
I have found that the simplest way to start exercising and stick with it, is to find what you love.
To exercise because you love it and enjoy the challenges of creating a better you.
In my life, I have tried many things with the intention of enjoying exercising.
For example, I have tried, rafting, running, hiking, yoga, going to the gym, soccer, basketball, mountain biking and a few more.
Many of these I have truly enjoyed.
For a time.
Then I move on to the next thing.
I enjoy switching things up now and then.
With more experiences comes more memories and another chance to find something I love.
The best way to find something you like to do for exercise, may also be the longest way.
It is to simply try different things you may like.
You can also spend a little time doing research and see what may feel right to you.
Trust your gut.
In the event you try something and don’t like it you can then move on to something else.
But give something new a try.
What’s the worst that can happen?
You may find something you don’t like and hence make a better decision next time.
I think it’s best to evaluate what you like before and after you do it.
Do the research to find something you like and then try it.
After you try it, evaluate it by simply asking yourself if you liked it.
If it sucks, don’t force yourself to stick with it.
The goal is to find something you love.
Not to make yourself hate exercising.
Sometimes you may like something but would want to make it better.
This is when you can turn something you like into something you love.
When I started mountain biking I did what everyone else did.
My friends and I would go into the mountains and just ride.
However, we did not like peddling up huge hills to only get five minutes of fun going downhill.
My friends and I switched this up as we loved the downhill part.
We used maps to find the biggest mountains and used vehicles to get to the top.
We would then end up like kids in a candy store on seven to twenty mile descents.
It was amazing, very dangerous and we all found something we loved.
Oh yeah, it turned out to be great exercise too.
The important part is to find something you love.
To exercise because you love it and really look forward to it.
Imagine that, you are in the best shape of your life and you loved every second of what it took to get there.
You have a new hobby and the new friends that often come along with new endeavors.
To me this is the best way to exercise, to get rid of the resistance of not liking it.
To find something that feels like it found you.
